At TU Wien, there is no special guideline regarding conducting research and writing master thesis. There are
administrative steps in the department, but Cartography MSc does not need to follow that, except the
specific layout required for the title page (see
this PDF).

For general information and advice on writing a thesis, you can use the ITC thesis research guide titled "Research Concepts & Skills". It is an elaborate guide that helps you in theoretical concepts (e.g. regarding types of logic) as well as practical things (e.g. citation rules):
