Short description: Based on research and consultation, a prototype of a project dashboard for healthcare will be developed and tested.

Description:
Most older adults live and receive care at home, as opposed to institutional settings. Although ageing at home is often the preferred choice for most older adults, the home environment can pose challenges for delivering care without appropriate and accessible built, social, and technological environments. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the demographics and environmental factors influencing ageing in place and receiving care at home, the Ageing Right Care(fully) (ARC) project (arc-project.eu) is an EU-funded transdisciplinary and transnational research initiative involving Israel, the Netherlands and Sweden. For this project, we want to build a dashboard of comparable information related to the three countries' ageing populations, policy and environmental characteristics. This dashboard will be referred to by other EU countries interested in replicating the study.
Objectives of the Student Assignment
The primary goal of this assignment is to build upon existing research into the effectiveness of interactivity in visuals and diagrams. The student will identify which types of data are best represented in what types of visualizations and best practices for displaying multiple visualizations in a single view across multiple countries. The student will help the project team decide on the content of the dashboard, including tables, graphics, or visual key performance indicators (KPIs). Based on the research and consultation, prototypes of a project dashboard should be developed.
Key areas of inquiry include:
Current trends: What are the current and ideal visualization methods used to dashboard multiple visualizations for different countries?
Scaling the Model: What strategies can scale the dashboard adaptation for different countries?
The assignment could begin on or after September 2025 and the student should:
Supervision:
This assignment will be co-supervised by Jodi Sturge, IxD, Department of Design Production, Faculty of Engineering Technology at the UT.
