EU Culture2000 funded project “Melka Kunture site and Archaeological Park”. Together with the Centro di Geotecnologie of the Universita degli Studi Siena (San Giovanni Valdarno) and the Universita La Sapienza (Roma). Workpackage “Conceptual structuring and organization of the Web GIS and Internet Web site”. Development of an internet web site and a Web GIS for the distribution of the cultural heritage relevant to the Ethiopian Melka Kunture site and Archaeological Park.

Setting up and teaching a one week course on Internet GIS and mapping for 16 GIS senior specialist of the Geological Survey of India at the GSI Training Institute (Hyderabad). Participation in end-of-project workshop of the same.

Netherlands/Cyprus

2002

Setting up, co-ordinating and partly teaching of a Special Course on Mapping and Property Valuation for The Department of Lands and Surveys (DLS) of Cyprus. This was a compact and comprehensive tailor-made program, funded by the EU, to meet the training needs of the DLS. Twelve employees of different branches of the DLS came to ITC and followed intensive training courses in photogrammetry, remote sensing, digital cartography and computer-assisted valuation.

Iran

2001

Teaching a module “Visualisation & Internet” in the GFM specialisation of the MSc/PM programme of the Remote Sensing & GIS Advanced School (JIK), combined with bringing JIK staff up to date (“teaching the teachers”) on the subjects taught in this module. JIK was a joint education project of the Ministry of Jehad-e-Agriculture, Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology and ITC.
