WALK–IN WORKSHOP Open Source GIS & WebCartography 5th, 6th & 7th July 13:30 – 15:15

The Walk In Workshop "Open Source GIS & WebCartography" was given on 5th, 6th & 7th July 13:30 - 15:15. This was organised on behalf of the the ICA Working Group on Open Source Geospatial Technologies. Everyone at ICC 2011 was invited to walk in to one of the 2 hour sessions to learn about Open Source tools for GIS and mapping on the Web. We started with a short introduction, and then showed hands-on how to actually do it: So participants brought their laptop, we provided the theory, the software and guidance. This event was organised as part of ICC 2011, the 25th Conference of the International Cartographic Association at the Palais de Congrès (Paris).
