What the site is about

This website tries to be a gateway to National Statistical Offices (NSOs) around the world. This way, we hope to provide a switchboard to data about these NSO websites and what they have to offer, plus links to their locations. The initial version of the site has been produced in conjunction with the publication of a Chapter on "The dissemination of Census and other statistical data through Web maps" in the book: Michael P. Peterson (ed.) Maps and the Internet. Pergamon Press /International Cartographic Association (ISBN 0-08-044201-3), pp. 57-75. The Chapter is authored by Corné P.J.M. van Elzakker, Ferjan Ormeling, Barend Köbben & Daisy Cusi. The inventory was updated in December 2002 by Guido van der Molen and in June 2005 by Olga Sacharow.
Barend Köbben built the site (which is ©2003 International Institute for Geo-information Science and Earth Observation)
